2012: Morgan Sports Car Club Holland (MSCCH)
40th Anniversary

We've waited 40 long years for this...now it's celebration time!

When will this all happen?
13th, 14th and 15th July 2012! These dates have been chosen because it is the weekend after the Le Mans Classic historic racing weekend in France. Now read on to discover the link between these two events. There is more going on here than you might think!

2012: It was exactly fifty years ago that a Morgan Plus Four won the Two Litre Class Race at Le Mans. The drivers were Richard Shepherd Barron and Christopher Lawrence, and these two Morgan heroes will be among the guests of honour for our 40th Anniversary.

The 40 Year MSCCH celebrations are to be held in the beautiful and rural area surrounding the TT-Circuit at Assen, in the Province of Drenthe.

The Morgan Motor Company (MMC) intends to build a fantastic display in the paddock that has been specially reserved for the MSCCH. Here the newest Morgan products will be shown to the public.

Charles Morgan has sent the word out to all "Affiliated Clubs" to come to Holland!
The expectations are already that hundreds of Morgans from all over Europe will attend, and possibly even some from America, Japan and Australia.
The Drenthe Tourist Board is showing signs of excitement too: this unique historic race weekend at the TT-circuit promises to attract above average numbers of spectators.

The surrounding area.
This part of Holland, which is a National Park, has much to offer in terms of general recreation. The people living here can also look forward to the spectacle of all these classic cars buzzing around on the roads of their hitherto, quiet countryside. The routes allocated for a total of six scenic runs have already been finalized, as well as a special navigation/sports challenge to separate the men from the boys. This one is automotive snakes and ladders and will require nerves of steel and a frame of ash.

This warm welcome will be the kick-off event for the whole weekend and will take place at the TT-Circuit Paddock on Friday 13th July.
Guests of honour will include: Christopher Lawrence and Richard Shepherd Barron. Other special guests include the British Ambassador in Holland, Queen's Commissioner for the Province of Drenthe, Mr. J. Tichelaar, the Lord Mayor of Assen, the directors of the TT-Circuit and many top racing drivers.

Venue:

The GHQ and epicentre of the celebrations will be situated at the famous TT-circuit at Assen, in North Holland, in an area which includes the picturesque provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe. All events will be taking place from this circuit area which is very conveniently situated near to various hotels, B&B's, and camping sites. The largest hotel with 185 rooms (Hotel Assen) is only a 5-minute's drive away.
