Twin 40 DCOE Carbs

These twin 40 DCOE Carbs were fitted to my Talbot Sunbeam 1600 Ti That I jumped over a hump back bridge and managed to jam in between a concrete wall and a lamp post in the late 80's due to my substantial strengthening of the inner wheel arches they suffered no damage I later fitted them to another 1600 Sunbeam but not a Ti and they worked fine.
I had These jetted on a rolling road when I had done some work to the head and also cut out the end of the airbox and added a pipercross panel air filter which is included in the sale. This can be replaced and is still available when I last checked. I will tell the winning bidder what other models the panel filter fits.

The carbs have Nylex rings which have been ported to the inlet manifolds and therefore I have decided it makes far more sense that I sell these with the inlet manifold as the carb throats are obviously standard and have not been ported or interfered with in any way. I replaced the large rubber bung type rings (that join the carbs to the manifold) which had split and perished. I hope this makes it much clearer. They were obtained from a Rally Specialist who dealt with these cars at the time. These were ported to the carbs and Manifold Which is available in Check out my other items! and that was also ported to these and to the engine head. They only required light porting to each other. This Setup worked well and I forget the amount of extra power it gave me But that combined with a Group A manifold and exhaust System added a not insignificant increase in BHP. (Which back in the day I left i a garage when I moved house and regret), otherwise you would have had the complete set up. Non the less here is an excellent opportunity for that restoration or upgrade. The carbs were well oiled wrapped in paper cardboard and bagged in a large plastic sack. They have been stored in doors or in a container for the rest of their lives and carefully handled in between.

The carbs are now for sale I was going to fit them to my Bettle engine but I have replaced that with a 914 Porsche engine. They are now ready for someone to put them to good use. Naturally they will fit all 1600 Hillman engines and I suspect they would even run nicely on the 1500. They will also fit a multitude of other engines Try These on your Peugot 1.6 or 19 GTI

They have been cleaned disasembled new gasket sets fitted light oiled reasemled and polished. They come complete with all Linkages accelerator cable fittings and have been reasembled and the idles set just as they were when they were disasembled. The butterflies have been set to closed and open simultaneously. They have short trumpets fitted which clear the filter and come with the modded air box they are now and always were well maintained and polised in the engine bay. The spindles run free as they should do with no discernable play whatsoever the bearings were replaced. I consider them to be in excellent condition.

Twin 40 DCOE Inlet Manifold

The inlet Manifold are now for sale on there own here (see seperate listing for carbs)

I have some twin 40 DCOE Carbs in another listing This is the Inlet manifold for that setup. They were both fitted to my Talbot Sunbeam 1600 Ti That I jumped over a hump back bridge and managed to jam in between a concrete wall and a lamp post in the late 80's due to my substansial stengthening of the inner wheel arches they suffered no damage I later fitted them to another 1600 Sunbeam but not a Ti and they worked fine.

I will tell the winning bidder what other models the panel filter fits so they may cheaply replace it if and when necessary.

The manifolds come complete with the rings which I replaced they were the large rubber bung type rings which had split and perished. They are currently joined together and are a perfect match. They will be seperated if it's not the same winning bidder. They were obtained from a Rally Specialist who delt with these cars at the time. These were ported to the carbs which is available in Check out my other items! and that was also ported to these and to the engine head. They only requred light porting to each other.
