At the first weekend of August 2009, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2, the Classic Days will convert the picturesque gardens of 1,000 years old moated castle Dyck once again in a Mecca for historic car lovers. Stunning concours exhibits in the parks along with classic cars in motion make the event unique. Jüchen/Neuss/Germany As they have done during the first August weekends 2006, ‘07 and ‘08 also in 2009 the Dyck Castle Classic Days will create a symphony mixed from good mood, gleaming eyes, historic garden pleasure and shiny classical automobiles and motorcycles. They will take place on August 1 and 2 in and around the moated castle Dyck, located close to Neuss in the city triangle Duesseldorf - Köln - Moenchengladbach.
The historic car event is a German one of a kind. It spans from the elite of concours vehicles to a historic car meeting for each and everyone. With the historic scenery and the family picnic atmosphere it attracts also people who are not true historic car enthusiasts. No doubt: The Schloss Dyck Classic Days go straight to the heart.
Historic motor sports so close, with international, rare vehicles as well as the exhibition of precious examples from the golden age of automobiles make a beguiling mixture.

Organized by the non-profit association Classic Days e.V. the event is supported by the district administration and automotive sponsors. Two things are very important according to Classic-Days-founder Marcus Herfort: First ranks the mission of the event. The profit goes to Dyck castle foundation in order to finance the reconstruction works on the ancient buildings and gardens. The association is proud to communicate 257,000 Euros as the result for the foundation in 2008.
Secondly theevent is also named "Trips memorial" honouring the German racing driver Wolfgang "Taffy" Count Berghe von Trips who died in a severe accident in 1961. His fairness, driving performance and charisma shine bright as an example even nearly five decades after his death in Monza Grand Prix.
In the international field of participants also Jochen Mass, German racetrack legend will be found, competing with a works racing car from Mercedes-Museum. In 2008 also racing drivers Hans Herrmann, Dieter Glemser or Hans-Joachim Stuck could be spotted as well as rallye champions Isolde Holderied and Jochen Berger. Organizer awaits also 2009 more than 120 handpicked historic cars from all over the world. More or less 70 historic racing cars with genuine and documented race history will compete on the 2.8 kms/1.7 mls circuit. This part of the event is named "Racing Legends"
Awe-inspiring will be the field of participants in the international concours d'elegance. This part of the weekend is called "Jewels in the Park" and will be a FIVA "A" event for the first time in 2009. It gatheres million worth collector gems: Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Horch, Rolls Royce and Bugatti present themselves like sculptures in the baroque gardens of the castle. The organizer adds his own concours classes "true sleeping beauty" and "one of" to the official FIVA classification as well as the special show "vehicles from the era of economic miracle", lining out the beginning of mobility for everyone. Peoples' mobility seems impossible without motorcycles. And that is the reason why classified runs with those put-put twowheelers, all pre-war, will be part of the event.
This wide range from the most expensive collector's piece to the still beloved everyday car from younger past makes the unique atmosphere of Classic Days. Beetle besides Rolls Royce - can be found even in the meadows around the castle. The people showing off their cars dedicate their hobby to the preservation of technical culture, most of them have done the restoration work by themselves. In the year 2008 at both days some 5,000 classic cars came to the castle as visitor cars. Parking space galore for those cars will be provided and gives the chance to all visitors to come with their old car directly to the location in order to show off their polished rarity and talk to other car enthusiasts. Over 40 clubs take the opportunity to present themselves.
„For that 4th issue Classic Days association once again will collect applications of most spectacular vehicles and set up a very varied program", states Marcus Herfort, president of the non profit association, „nevertheless we still have room for the most rare and outstanding vehicles in the concours d'elegance. We gratefully accept further applications"
