After the definitive announcement of the Hockenheim-Ring GmbH that the "Hockenheim Historic - In Memory of Jim Clark" will take place from the 24th until 26th of  April 2009 at the traditional racing circuit, the telephones of the racing series coordinators are ringing non-stop. A large number of racing series are excited to take part in the Hockenheim Historic and are even planning to celebrate their anniversaries during the event at the unique Motodrom.

The festivities of the anniversary "100 years Morgan" in Germany will start with a special race, in which a couple of legendary Morgan-racing cars are expected to take part. The Morgan Sports Car Club Deutschland (MSCCD) e.V. will arrange this anniversary supported by the Morgan Company.

The Historische Formel Vau Europa e.V will establish an European Formel Vau-Event during the Hockenheim Historic. This year the 80th birthday of Kurt Bergmann will be central to the club's activities. He was a brilliant racing car constructor in the sixties and seventies and is expected to attend the event at the Hockenheimring in person.

The organizers of the Hockenheim Historic and the Solitude GmbH, which is specialised in historic motor sports, searched through the history books and had a great idea. In order to gain authenticity two series of the sixties and seventies will be revived: The "Interserie" and the "Internationale Solitude-Rennen".
The Interserie was born in the year 1970 at the "MSF", the great fair for motor sports and recreation on the "Stuttgarter Killesberg", the today's "CMT". The idea: A counterpart to the so famous American CanAm-Series should exist, a special-GT-car-series (Group 4), big-volume sport cars (Group 5), sport-prototypes (Group 6) and two seated racing cars (Group 7). The new Interserie took place at the Hockenheimring from the very beginning - even twice a year, one race in the early summer and one at the end of the season. On the 5th of July 1970 the first race with an all-star cast took place. Vic Elfort drove a McLaren M12, Richard Attwood a Lola T70, as well as Joakim Bonnier. Hans Herrmann, David Piper, Gijs van Lennep, Juergen Neuhaus und Gerard Larousse drove the Porsche 917 with a twelve-cylinder-engine. Niki Lauda and Willi Kauhsen started with the eight-cylinder Porsche 908. There will be an "Interserie-Revival" at the Hockenheim Historic. The focus is the anniversary "40 Jahre Porsche 917" ("40 years Porsche 917") of Kurt Ahrens and Vic Elford. For the preliminary discussion they both came personal to Stuttgart, to arrange the comeback of these fascinating cars with the coordinator Tobias Aichele.

After the end of the "Solitude Rennen" in Stuttgart in the year 1965, the Motorsport-Club Stuttgart passed the beautiful name on to the Hockenheimring and established  the "Internationale Solitude-Rennen". This year the "Classic Masters" will race at the Hockenheimring in the name of the "Solitide Rennen".
The Veteranen Fahrzeug Verband (VfV) becomes 50 years this year. The "Hockenheim Historic - In Memory of Jim Clark" also belongs to the official anniversary-events. Two classes will be expected: the sportive car-troop of the VfV GLP-pro as well as a class with formula-cars.

The staff of "Race History on Track" will show a spectrum of grand-prix-cars. Next to a variety of formula 1 cars of five decades, formula 2 cars will be mostly at the centre of attention - in honour to the formula 1 world champion Jim Clark, who was killed in an tragic accident on the 7th of April 1968 in the first run for the Martini Gold Cup (Formula 2 European Championship) during the fifth lap at the Hockenheimring.

Touring cars till 1.300 cubic centimetre capacity will compete in the "Kampf der Zwerge" ("Fight of dwarfs"), consisting of the championship-runs „Abarth-Coppa-Mitte", „British-Car-Trophy" und „NSU-TT-Trophy". Juergen Moehle (FHR) will also send some touring cars to the starting grid - for a 3-hour-race for the „Yokohama Roschmann Cup 2009" and the „100 Meilen Trophy".
