Once a good holiday destination is discovered, it is often revisted year after year. One particular classic car tour organiser insists that „if it says rally in the banner, then the event should actually be a rally". So the motto that we believe in „what you see is what you get" and there is a great deal of grey in between a race and an afternoon drive in the country. The responsibility lies with organisers of such events to advertise them accurately and honestly and to prepare routes sensibly and with great care; the same is true for overnight accommodation and dining locations. The larger the group, the bigger the hotel required. The target group will also affect the destination or destinations visited. Is the trip more sporting or is sight-seeing or culture more important? Such questions should be addressed by organisers.

But some competition organiers allow participants much more flexibility in planning their routes than others, as long as you don't want to win a trophy. So what if a special test stop is missed? So what if you make a detour during a rally to visit „Ye Olde Tea Shoppe" in a picturesque town or village or to do a bit of shopping? It is often the case that such experiences are much more enjoyable and memorable than „sticking to the rules". Especially if your partner accompanies you!
